This dataset was created as base map information. The use of all Glen Canyon National Recreation Area data is to support park actions including planning, management, maintenance, research, and interpretation. Procedures_Used: This document presents the background information for the digitized "in-park" quadrangle annotations taken from USGS 7.5 Topographic maps. The coverage shows place names, boundary names, seeps, wells, springs, towns, on the lake locational names, and tributary identification. The extent of coverage goes from just below Glen Canyon Dam on the Colorado River in Arizona, up Lake Powell including the San Juan and Escalante arms in Utah, past the headwaters of Lake Powell on the Colorado River, and ceases at the intersection of Grand, Emery, San Juan, and Wayne Co. on the Green River.
